Winter 2019/2020

Winter 2019/2020

If you are a regular visitor to this website, you may know that I live in the French Alps. I moved here with my wife Carolyn, so we could enjoy the mountains and everything they offer.

We live in the ski resort of Morzine, which is just perfect for us. We snowboard all winter, and during the summer we spend a lot of time mountain biking and hiking.

Our location gives us access to some of the best terrain in the world. We can get to Switzerland in less than an hour using the ski lifts and if we want pasta by the sea, we are just four hours from the Italian Mediterranean coast.

The lifestyle we lead is pretty great, as we have an amazing group of friends that make our times on and off the mountain pretty special. Last week, we camped in the mountains for our friend Sarah’s birthday. It got pretty boozy, so the morning after was a bit of a write-off, but it was a great night after strict lockdown measures in France.

Due to the pandemic, our winter was cut short. This did mean we missed out on all of the end of season parties, but that is a small price to pay for keeping ourselves and others safe and healthy. There will be other parties, and frankly, it probably did us a favour, as we can’t be trusted, as our sore heads from our overnight camp will contest.

As I write this, the lockdown rules have been relaxed, and Emmanuel Macron is allowing us to go back to normal within a few days. I hope that this isn’t too early, as other parts of the world are seeing a second spike in Covid-19 cases.

As you can see from the video above, even though our winter was cut short, we had some pretty epic times. The video contains just some of the footage I took over the winter, and there were days that were even better that I didn’t bother recording, as sometimes you just have to live in the moment and enjoy it while you can.

The fact that I can choose my working hours meant that I didn’t miss a powder day all winter. You don’t need to be an outdoor enthusiast to take advantage of this flexibility, but I hope that this inspires you to live your life on your own terms.

If you want to know more, explore my website or drop me a message in the comments section below.

I just want to say thank you to all our friends that made our winter special, especially:

Love your website – this is the dream of every affiliate marketeer! I started my affiliate journey a year ago, when I was stuck at home and unable to work following knee surgery for a ruptured ACL… It’s been an amazing journey that will hopefully culminate in being able to live and work from anywhere in the world…
